CONTEMPORARY RIVERSIDE GARDEN FOR HUF STYLE HOUSE BY THE THAMES

My clients want a garden to reflect their stylish house and reflect their contemporary taste. This will be built this year together with new moorings for their boat.

LARGE VICTORIAN HOUSE IN BERKSHIRE

This garden is half an acre and being undertaken in stages as funds allow. Here is the courtyard with formal topiary, brick paving and pleached hornbeams to suit the classical design of the house. Please note the 'before' picture - quite a difference!

JAPANESE INFLUENCE IN WANTAGE

My clients adore the controlled minimal style of Japanese gardens and wanted something similar for their new town garden. This incorporates cloud pruned topiary, acers, a stylish sculpture and smart water wall. The garden will be serene and stylish. Due to be built by May 2012.

GRADE II LISTED MANOR HOUSE

This is a garden design for a recently extended grade 2 listed manor house. HB Architects recommended Joanne Alderson Design to Mr and Mrs Hunt in order to liaise and produce a harmonious design. The clients wanted the grounds to look like those of a minimal boutique hotel - a fantastic brief! The drawings here show the overall scheme with its new sweeping drive and smart lakes and details of the knot garden and a cross section of a formal parterre. This scheme is currently with the planning department seeking approval. Works will hopefully commence in January.

THE MALTHOUSE

These drawings are of Val and Richards' large country garden in Newbury that I completely redesigned. It includes a knot garden, an orchard, a croquet lawn, great views, suitable dining and sitting areas and lots of scent. This is currently being built and photo's will soon be added.
